TGS 2025 Metal Gear Production Hotline: Fox Hunt, Master Collection, future games, and more

Metal Gear, News1 year ago4 Views

Fox Hunt’s October launch date, updates for both Master Collection volumes, future Metal Gear possibilities, and new merchandise all featured in the Metal Gear Production Hotline at Tokyo Game Show 2025. We followed the September 25 event live and translated the key answers afterward. Here is our coverage together in one place.

Fox Hunt arrives October 30

Fox Hunt received an October 30, 2025 worldwide launch date during the Metal Gear Production Hotline at Tokyo Game Show 2025. We followed the event from its opening through the final announcements, with Promotions Director Jiro Oishi, Fox Hunt Director Yu Sahara, Yuji Korekado, and Noriaki Okamura on stage.

The demonstrations covered AT-CAMO, the quick camouflage menu, Naked Sense and its detection scenarios, capture points, listening and searching, pre-match character and opponent screens, and post-match items and rewards.

Fox Hunt supports up to 12 players in teams of two, with three field types and two randomly selected mission-rule types. The mission progresses in phases, eliminating players who fail to meet an objective.

Naked Sense helps detect nearby enemies and supplies, but drains stamina while active. Nearby players receive an alert when someone uses it and can hide to avoid detection. We also reiterated an important point from the official website: Fox Hunt contains no in-game purchases.

Master Collection Vol. 2 is moving forward

Okamura reaffirmed that Master Collection Vol. 2 was in development, with work continuing alongside Delta. He wanted to share both its progress and the direction ahead when the timing was right.

He apologized for repeatedly asking fans to wait and could not say how much longer that would be. The project was progressing, however, and he felt it was shaping up to be enjoyable. We later shared a translated clarification of his answer to preserve that distinction.

Vol. 1 updates are approaching the finish line

We retracted our earlier pessimistic comments about Master Collection Vol. 1 after reviewing the translated transcript. Okamura had specifically said the team was still working on Vol. 1 and was finally beginning to see the finish line.

He hoped to announce that work alongside other news when an opportunity arose. That was fantastic news for those of us still waiting for its remaining issues to be addressed.

An MGS1 remake is Okamura’s personal wish

Asked about a brand-new Metal Gear or another remake, Okamura said the next project had not yet been decided. After rebuilding the team and delivering Delta, the discussion was about what could come next.

Metal Gear spans very different production eras, from pixel art to cinematic presentation. Delta’s approach—keeping the story and level design while upgrading graphics and controls—would not automatically suit every other game. The method and workload would depend on the title.

His personal choice was an MGS1 remake, but he explicitly framed that as his own wish, with no official promise about the next project. He also acknowledged the extreme difficulty. We felt a remake was becoming increasingly likely, but that was our opinion rather than a development announcement.

Delta update 1.1.4 and future improvements

Version 1.1.4 was announced for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. It fixes cases where Snake spoke English regardless of voice-language settings, Japanese and English dialogue were swapped in certain cutscenes, or characters and animals disappeared during cutscenes. It also addresses being unable to climb onto rocks at particular moments in The Pain battle, alongside minor fixes and adjustments.

The presentation outlined future work on Steam 21:9 ultrawide support, excluding certain scenes; selectable rendering modes on PS5 Pro; and performance-stability improvements across platforms.

Soundtrack and merchandise

Delta’s original soundtrack was announced for December 17, 2025. The slide showed a three-CD standard edition and a first limited edition adding a booklet with miniature scores for selected tracks.

The merchandise showcase included the painted, light-up Chogokin Metal Gear REX figure, scheduled for February 2026, and an Ichiban Kuji lineup launching from September 26, 2025. Its prizes included a cardboard-box tissue case, ration-style cooler bag, sound effects, stationery, cloths, and other Metal Gear items.

Other slides featured Delta × EDWIN clothing, including 503 Art Camo jeans, tiger-stripe shirts and cargo pants, and printed T-shirts. The Gecco/monoObscure Naked Snake and The Boss shirts were shown in black and white, with a December 2025–January 2026 release window.

Delta Force crossover and the viewer survey

The presentation revisited the already-announced Delta Force collaboration. It was a reminder of that crossover rather than a brand-new reveal.

After the broadcast, Konami invited viewers to complete a survey and submit questions for the creators. The stated deadline was October 9, 2025 at 16:59 JST. The survey window has since closed.

That wrapped up the event. We shared individual reports and translations afterward; this article brings that coverage together in one place.
