Our thoughts on MGSV’s backlash and speculation about Kojima’s departure

Welcome to my TED talk… The bulk of outrage towards MGSV has always had little to do with the self-interpreted “unfinished content,” nor does it have to do with the “Big Medic” twist that caused some fan outrage. It always had to do with the perceived thoughts surrounding the public divorce of Konami and Kojima, of which most theories and thoughts are mostly baseless because no one outside of the core team of KJP has ever said or told anyone what really happened during that time period other than varied, unconfirmed reports by members of the gaming press.

To this day, neither director Kojima, new or old staff of KJP, nor Konami have officially elaborated on why the divide happened in detail.

Everything you’ve ever read or heard about it is purely speculation, rumors, or circumstantial events leading to the split, but nothing definitively proven whatsoever explains everything involved that led to the split. Point me to any Youtube video, any Tumblr essay, or whatever, but facts are facts.

The reality is that director Kojima’s departure was inevitable for many reasons, which I won’t go into, but be wary of what you repeat in this sea of information. If you think you know what happened, you don’t. No one outside of the core team of KJP knows. Both parties have also moved on, so should you.
