Not every improvement in Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 appears in the published patch notes. We and other players have been checking the games after the Steam 1.4.0 update, and are already finding changes beyond the listed features.

One major improvement in our MGS1 testing is that the cracking and popping audio is gone. It had been a glaring problem for us, so hearing it resolved makes a real difference. We are also seeing work on issues inherited from the HD Editions.
That does not mean every remaining problem has been addressed. We will continue sharing significant findings as we check them.

We pointed out that analog input was identified as an upcoming fix, and explained how the progress affected our recommendation:
@mavericklive Patch notes literally address this as an upcoming fix.
I've said since day one, Konami's actions will speak louder than words, and thus far they are making good with a lot of these much needed fixes. Hindsight is 20/20, but I am feeling much more comfortable recommending this in its current state 1.40 onward as I was pre-patch. We are in a good state now, we are getting down to the nit picks soon which is great.
Not actually. A lot has been fixed. So far they are making good with a lot of these much needed fixes. I am feeling much more comfortable recommending this in its current state 1.40 onward as I was pre-patch. We are in a good state now, we are getting down to the nit picks soon which is great.
@Blazing_Snake50 Yeah it was pretty unbearable for me. So glad its gone now. 😅
