Story time: my embarrassing first interaction with David Hayter

Story time: I have a funny and super embarrassing story in regards to this. I doubt @DavidBHayter remembers this, but as mentioned below, he auctioned off his MGS1 recording script on Ebay for a lucky fan who wanted it. 🤩

Well, being the unofficial protector of the fandom that I thought I was at the time, I ended up emailing him, ripping him a new one 🤬, saying something to the effect of, “How dare you post this fake listing and take advantage of MGS fans who would move heaven and earth to actually obtain something like this?!?! 🤬” I went on, writing some scathing email that I’m sure was rude as hell.

To my utter shock, he responded. With pure class and professionalism, and kindness, trying to assure me he really was David Hayter the voice of Solid Snake and he thought this would be something nice for a fan to have. He even attached more pictures in the email to prove it was him.

. . . I wanted to die. 💀

My first interaction with David was this scathing email I sent him and I was completely wrong. He even offered to call me and leave a voice mail to prove it was him. I was so embarrassed and quickly apologized in my follow up email. He was a really good sport about it and accepted my apology over the “misunderstanding”. 😭

Funny thing is, one of the members of the old MGN forum was the lucky person who ended up winning the auction too. 😅 Sorry again Snake. 🙏🥹
