Steam Pre-Loading Goes Live for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2

Steam pre-loading for METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2 went live ahead of the collection’s August 27 release. That means players who purchased the game digitally on Steam could begin downloading its files before launch day.

What does pre-loading mean?

Pre-loading lets you download a game before it is officially playable. When the release time arrives, Steam unlocks access to the game. The files may still need to be unpacked, verified, or updated, so pre-loading does not always mean you can launch the moment the clock hits release. It does mean you can avoid waiting for the full download to begin after launch.

This can be especially helpful for players with slower internet connections or anyone who wants to get their download out of the way before launch day. It is not early access; the game remains locked until its scheduled release.
