We came away from our Metal Gear Solid Delta demo Spaces feeling a lot more confident. We asked everyone who had played the demo about performance on PS5 and PC, especially with the game running on Unreal Engine 5, and the responses were overwhelmingly positive.
Every participant we questioned reported a smooth experience, with no hitching, stuttering, glitches, or bugs during their demo time. Several described it as “buttery smooth.” From what we heard, Virtuos’ partnership on Delta looked to be paying off.
Visuals, sound, and immersion also drew praise across the board. These were impressions from the demo sessions, and the feedback came from both longtime fans and newcomers—including someone entirely new to Metal Gear.

Players described New Style as modern and intuitive, with more to it than simply putting MGSV’s controls into Snake Eater. Bullet drop was noticeable—more pronounced than some remembered from Ground Zeroes—but manageable. One participant initially struggled and then quickly adapted.
The default control scheme was different, with control-mapping and UI options available. Quality-of-life improvements stood out, and everyone agreed that CQC felt great. Some also said Snake felt more “weighty,” which could take a little adjustment for longtime players.

Early encounters remained familiar, but some players felt the AI was more aware of their presence and surroundings. Crouch-walking alone did not guarantee going unnoticed. The limited demo time meant nobody could dig deeply into enemy behaviour, but the initial feedback sounded promising.
Most participants left with their concerns eased. That did not guarantee a hit, but hearing consistent positive impressions from people who had played the game gave us more confidence.
Guy Savage also came up during the discussion. At the time of our Spaces, we were still waiting for full confirmation, though the signs pointed toward its return.

Big thanks to everyone in the community who joined and shared their thoughts with us!
