Our August 2024 thoughts on the leaked Metal Gear Solid Delta preview and release speculation

The Jeuxvideo preview that appeared on the morning of August 23, 2024, before being deleted, had us weighing up whether Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater could still arrive around November that year.

We were still slightly skeptical. A release in that window would leave Konami very little time to ramp up worldwide marketing and share the many details still to come. Silent Hill 2’s remake was already scheduled for October 8, adding another major release to the calendar.

Tokyo Game Show was just around the corner, so we were watching for more news there. A PlayStation showcase appearance was another possibility we raised, alongside Konami’s own trailers and Production Hotline coverage. If the suggested timing proved accurate, we expected a lot of press coverage in a short space of time.

These were our thoughts on the leaked preview and the schedule as it stood in August 2024, with Delta’s release date still unconfirmed.
