Metal Gear Solid Delta keeps original credits and explains its “Based on Metal Gear Solid 3” opening

Production Hotline #02 reaffirmed that Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater retains the original cast credits, with new footage showing those credits in place. These cutscenes are looking phenomenal!

The team also explained why Delta opens with “Based on Metal Gear Solid 3” in place of “A Hideo Kojima Game.” The latter credit has traditionally been used for games Kojima personally directed.

Noriaki Okamura pointed to Portable Ops and the Digital Graphic Novel as examples: he directed those projects, and neither opens with that line. Delta follows the same precedent, while recognising the original MGS3 as its foundation.
