The PlayStation Blog has published a hands-on report on Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, covering the opening of the Virtuous Mission and the remake’s approach to a familiar game.
The new third-person control option lets Snake move and fire while aiming over his shoulder, with right-stick camera control. Traditional controls remain available. The report also highlights equipment shortcuts and accessibility options, including colour correction and a centre aiming dot.
Unreal Engine 5 gives the jungle a new level of detail, while mud can visibly cover Snake and improve his camouflage. Injuries leave lasting marks on his body. For us, the key is how those changes sit alongside the Snake Eater we know: the preview follows the opening mission through to the encounter with The Boss at the bridge.
