Metal Gear Solid 2 receives free Switch 2 support in Master Collection Vol. 1

Konami is highlighting the free Nintendo Switch 2 update for Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty in Master Collection Vol. 1. We translated the Japanese announcement, which directs players to the collection’s February 13 update notes.

MGS2’s Ver. 2.1.0 update adds screen settings for the Switch version running on Switch 2. Original Mode retains the previous presentation, while Fine Mode uses 1080p internal rendering, 1080p upscaling and high-resolution movies. Custom settings let players adjust those options individually.

The notes also list smoother display compared with the Nintendo Switch version and a fix for some silent codec audio. Screen settings must be chosen before starting the game. These are practical improvements to the existing Switch release, delivered through a free update.
