Konami explains Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance’s brief Japanese digital availability

Production Hotline #02 addressed why Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance briefly became available to purchase digitally in Japan before being restricted again.

The release had been planned for North America. A technical issue temporarily made it available to Japanese players, and Konami apologised for raising their hopes before the issue was corrected.

The team praised PlatinumGames’ work on Revengeance and expressed hope for a Japanese release, but had no news to announce at the time.
