FOX HUNT unveiled as Metal Gear Solid Delta’s new online mode

FOX HUNT, a new online mode for Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, was unveiled at Konami’s Press Start event. We’ve preserved the announcement video below.

Our thoughts on FOX HUNT and MGO

FOX HUNT definitely seems similar to Team Sneak from Metal Gear Online. We understand the disappointment some people feel about this being a different online mode, and we have some ideas about why the developers chose this direction—some business-related, others less flattering when we think back to the version of MGO that accompanied MGSV.

FOX HUNT is directly tied to Delta. If we’re serious about wanting a new MGO, we’d prefer it to be a standalone game, free from the limits of a single title, time period or set of weapons.

With the Hotline event still ahead at the time of this announcement, we felt it would be a better opportunity to share any future MGO plans. We understand the frustration, but let’s wait and see what the roadmap brings in the coming weeks, months and years.
