Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater surpassed one million worldwide units as of its August 28, 2025 launch, Konami confirmed in its September 5 corporate announcement. The total covers PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, combining physical copies shipped with digital copies sold.

The August 28 cutoff matters: this is the launch figure, rather than sales accumulated through the September 5 announcement. Physical shipments are included in the total, so it should not be read as one million boxed copies purchased by players.
Honestly, this feels like the best outcome we could’ve hoped for. The game is out, most fans are happy with it, and the performance complaints are fair. Overall, we see this as a huge win that should open doors for the team and Konami as they move forward with the series.
Our guess at the time was that an MGS1 remake had already been greenlit and started, with Master Collection Vol. 2 the next announcement and an MGS4 port on the way. That was our speculation in the follow-up, rather than confirmation from this sales announcement.
