Master Collection staging activity points to more updates in development

Thanks to Afevis from our Discord community for flagging more activity around Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. The MSX Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 package, MGS1, MGS2, MGS3 and Bonus Content all have changes on their respective Steam staging branches.

Master Collection Steam staging activity shared in our original report

At this stage, we are expecting the long-awaited analog fixes in a forthcoming update and wondering whether more improvements are on the way. The branch activity alone does not confirm a patch’s contents or release date.

With the last Steam patch having arrived on December 20, we hope another update could come soon, followed by consoles. That is our expectation, rather than an announced release schedule.

Our follow-up explanation

@Ross_RBT Just means Konami have updates they have uploaded to Steam pending review/certification and or release window. There is a process to getting updates to games on Steam. We have the ability to see when they make changes in the background before they go live.

The useful signal here is that work is happening behind the scenes before a public release. We will be watching for Konami’s announcement and patch notes to establish what is actually shipping.
