Konami is spotlighting the updates available for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, with the original Metal Gear Solid gaining new resolution settings in Ver. 3.0.0.

The official comparison shows Snake’s opening infiltration of Shadow Moses with the original presentation beside the highest-resolution option. The sharper rendering makes the geometry easier to read while retaining the familiar artwork and scene.

The available choices are Original, High Resolution and Highest Resolution. PS4 and Nintendo Switch offer Original and High Resolution. The resolution must be selected before starting the game; choosing an enhanced setting also disables separate smoothing, screen-filter and Pixel Perfect choices.

Konami’s February 13 patch notes also cover confirm/cancel button swapping on supported platforms, keyboard remapping on Steam and a fix for some silent codec audio on Nintendo Switch. The official demonstration below shows the resolution change in motion.
