Metal Gear and MGN: Our 2023 year in review — Part 2

Our Metal Gear year in review continues with Part 2: new communities, a growing identity, the Master Collection’s arrival and the moments that made 2023 unforgettable.

Building our community

I thought, you know what, now is the time to open up a Discord for our community. So we did and the response was insane. With hundreds joining in the first 24hrs and now with well over 1700 members to date, its a great place to hang out, and our modding scene is like no other. 🥰

We also started our MGN community here on Twitter/X. We love it! Join today.

The Master Collection reaches more players

One of the biggest news pieces to hit our community was that the Master Collection would be coming to Steam/PC and the Nintendo Switch. This news shook the community like no other.

At the time, I think collectively, we were all on cloud 9. What a time to be alive.

Price, debate and the people supporting MGN

The Master Collection price was revealed. This would start the beginning of some of the groaning towards the collection but this was expected. You can't please everyone.

My most controversial tweet ever. I've never seen such a massive influx of follower drop and gain than I did after making this tweet. Funny thing is, in the end, I ended up with more followers after it was all said and done vs unfollows. First tweet I ever had to close down. 🫠

One of my biggest supporters. He shared a lot of my tweets this year and I am forever grateful for his continued support. He is my hero after all. I love him.

This was the official start of something I MAY REGRET HAVING TO COMITTED TOO. Good god, you all have no idea how hard it was to make a new video everyday and not miss one day. In the end though so many of you shared your love for it so thank you. <3

This man turned 60 this year. How time flies. Can you believe it?!

Konami... I'm just saying... call me next time.

A new identity, Tokyo Game Show and the store

MGN officially has a brand! Since the beginning MGN never really owned its own identity. This would be a pivotal step for MGN moving forward.

TOKYO GAME SHOW 2023!!!!!! This was electric. So much came out of this show! I'm pretty sure I got blocked by many for constantly feed spamming lol. What a show it was! 🤩

We officially launch our merch store! Thank you to everyone who has supported us in this venture. More to come to the store in 2024! Please look forward to it.

Creating more for the community

In between news drops and other posts, I had a lot of fun making posters and graphics for the series. Be sure to check the highlight tab of MGN's profile page for all of my works pinned.

A video I felt that needed to be made to clear up confusion and rumors. This video was the first video of its kind I would make for MGN on YouTube and to date has over 40k views. Insane. I hope to do much more on YouTube in 2024. Thanks for all of the support on this one!

Launch day and our first look at Delta

The day had finally come. Mixed emotions for sure. I got the game a day early from Konami and this would be the beginning of mostly good but also some serious issues. A very special and somewhat controversial launch indeed. Would this have a good ending? Only time would tell.

We got a first look at gameplay for the upcoming release of Delta. Blown away by what we saw and mostly to a well received reception by fans. More questions were left than answers but this is promising for sure.

Speaking up and looking ahead

An open letter to Konami. I sat on this tweet for days. In the years I have run this account for MGN, I never felt more nervous about posting something like I did this. Would Konami black-list MGN? Would they just ignore the feedback? Or would they try to make things right? 🤔😟

LETS FREAKING GO!!!! 😤 2024 is looking up people!!

Ok so things got kind of weird, but in a good way I swear!! 😅 David quit playing. I need details now! Kojima?????

The end of E3, and a year to remember

We ended off the year with E3 coming to an end. Thanks for letting me share my story. Until next year my friends! Peace and Love, from MGN!
