Some reflections on Konami’s Press Start Event early this morning.
Believe it or not, it was actually better than I expected. Typically, these Konami-led events are pretty sparse on details, but this time Konami showed quite a bit—especially considering we have the Hotline event coming up in just a matter of hours! Set your alarms! 😭
Now, I’m not one to say “I told you so,” but I’ve been saying all along that I was confident the Secret Theater mode would make a return, and I was right! So, yeah, told you so. 😉😜
I was also right to trust my instincts and not claim for sure that the new online mode was actually MGO. I had a feeling something was off, and I’m glad I held back. To be fair, it’s basically Team Sneak mode from MGO, and Konami knew exactly what they were doing with the way they teased it. I don’t blame anyone who was convinced MGO was coming, but as I said before, Fox Hunt looks great, and I’m sure the team is doing everything they can to make it a fun and enjoyable experience. It was great to see the new Director (Yu Sahara) in charge of this as well and the young team behind this new ambitious online mode.
The new Bomberman mode looks awesome, and so does Snake vs Monkey. I love how they made episodes for the Secret Theater gatherable as in-game items. It’ll be fun to collect them all and to see the new episodes created just for this Delta release! 🥰
Also, congratulations to Konami and the other companies on the Silent Hill remake announcement. I wish you all the very best, Silent Hill fans deserve it.
Let’s wait and see what’s in store for the Hotline event tomorrow. The team in Japan could still have some bombshell surprises for us. I really hope so.
