MGS4 delivers in just about every way possible on both console and PC. I spent a few hours with the PS5 and PC versions of MGS4 and walked away incredibly pleased and proud of what the Metal Gear development team has done for fans.
Visually, you really cannot go wrong with either version. Both look crisp, sharp and incredibly smooth. Nearly everything you could ask for is here, and then some, including customizable controls and plenty of options.
This is now the definitive way to play MGS4. It may not be absolutely perfect, but it comes very close.

For old heads like myself, seeing the game jump from frequently running below 30fps to an almost locked 60fps is honestly jarring at first. But man, it did not take long to get used to, and it makes the game even more enjoyable. The nearly instant load times were also a very welcome surprise.
I had a smile from ear to ear while playing, and I suspect I am far from the only one who feels that way.

I plan to finish my first PC playthrough today, then head back to the console version and finish it there before moving on to Peace Walker and Ghost Babel.
So far, though, the team in Japan has delivered, and in a very big way. Let me know what your initial impressions are in the comments.
