Story time: a $20 Sony CRT and Metal Gear on PS1 and PS2

Story time. A couple of weeks ago, I believe I got the best deal ever. On Facebook marketplace I found an estate sale selling what seemed to be a Sony KV-27FS13 CRT TV in fantastic condition. I asked if there was any screen burn-in or internal damage, and nothing was wrong. An older couple owned it and rarely used it. The menu settings were all at default, even the sound option was set to mono.

Fearing the worst I asked how much, and the lady said, "Twenty dollars, and it's yours." What?!?! I bought it immediately. I've been enjoying playing PS1 and PS2 games on this TV. It's fantastic—the pixels, the scan lines! I love it. Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 3 look amazing on this screen. It's hard to explain or put into words, but here are some photos I took.

Please forgive my horrible iPhone-quality photos but yeah you get the idea. Also, this thing weighs at least 105 pounds. 😩
