SaveMGO has announced a major performance update for Metal Gear Online 2, reporting a frame-rate increase of 30–70% in its emulator. The update also adds an audio option intended to resolve stuttering, crackling, and missing sounds.
The team says the update is optional for now while the build’s stability is assessed; it may become mandatory once they are confident in the build. It is available for Windows and Linux, with the Mac version still in development. To install it, open the emulator and select Help > Check for updates.
SaveMGO recommends restoring default settings after updating, then readjusting resolution. If you prefer not to reset your settings, the team suggests setting Task Acceleration to Basic in the Metal Gear Online tab. The update announcement says Basic is the recommended option.
It is a substantial technical step for players using SaveMGO’s Metal Gear Online 2 project: the reported frame-rate gain is significant, and the new audio control directly targets several persistent playback problems.
