Where to find the Master Collection preorder music on Steam

If you bought the Steam version of Master Collection Vol. 1 and have downloaded the preorder music, the files are inside the Bonus Content installation. We shared this workaround with credit to Reddit user u/puromento.

In the Steam installation drive, open the steamapps folder, then common, then MGS Master Collection Bonus Content, and finally windata.

The 201 folder contains the regular 20-track soundtrack. The dlc folder contains the three preorder tracks, provided that content has been downloaded.

The regular soundtrack files were already named and numbered. For the preorder files, copy them to another folder and add the .m4a extension to the copies so an external player can recognize them.

These instructions document the Steam file layout we reported in October 2023. They do not apply to PlayStation soundtrack downloads.
