MGN – Metal Gear Network website relaunch!

I promise you this is the last time I'm doing this.

Throughout the years, MGN has existed solely due to my efforts and passion for creating the ultimate Metal Gear Solid (MGS) fan website. My goal has always been to share news and information related to the series, Hideo Kojima, and his team.

In the past, the site primarily served as a news aggregator but experienced periods of inactivity due to personal life circumstances. For years, I’ve pondered the future direction of MGN. I’ve now decided that MGN will continue as a website but with a renewed focus on fulfilling its original purpose and addressing long-standing loose ends.

Moving forward, the website will remain dedicated to delivering news about the series, Konami, Hideo Kojima’s works, and his new studio. Additionally, it will evolve into an archive of my personal editorial thoughts, memories, Metal Gear media, and writings—some contributed by others.

MGN’s largest presence will be on social media, with our headquarters at X/Twitter: X.com/MGSMGN. We encourage you to follow us there for breaking news and updates. While news posted on social media will also appear on the website, it will be at a pace I can manage. The website will soon host exclusive content not available on social channels, which I look forward to sharing in the coming weeks, months, and years.

We understand there are other places like wikis for detailed information. However, MGN aims to be a unique destination for Metal Gear news and insights—a place fans can rely on for their “Metal Gear fix.” We invite you to join us on social media and our Discord community to interact directly with us. With the upcoming release of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, expect frequent updates and exciting content.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported MGN since its inception in 1996. Here’s to new beginnings! I’m thrilled to announce that we’ve reclaimed our original domain name—MetalGear.net—which had been taken and squatted on for years. While Metal-Gear.Net will still work, it will redirect to MetalGear.net without the dash. Be sure to bookmark it!

Stay tuned and keep visiting MGN!
